8/10 @ 810
On Saturday August 10, 810 Meadworks in Medina will celebrate its five years in business and five seasons of the summer music series in the beegarten, an outdoor music space attached to the business. It is the perfect day for a celebration because August 10 is 8/10 and it falls on a Saturday, thus Meadworks dubbed the event “8/10 at 810.”
Over the past five summers the beegarten has presented over 40 different music artists, including former and current members of national bands such as Hall & Oates, Rusted Root, Modern English, Captain Beyond, Klear and Cheater. Two of the past performers are Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame inductees.
“The emphasis has always been on bringing in artists that perform original material or perform covers in an original way,” noted 810 Meadworks co-founder Bryan DeGraw, who started 810 Meadworks in 2014 along with his wife Larissa.
There are a few perennial favorites for the series, but this year’s lineup included seven artists that performed at the summer series for the first time.
The 8/10 at 810 event will feature three favorites from year’s past, all of whom have strong local ties. Medina based Experimental Sandwich featuring Josh Cogovan will start the festivities at 5:00 PM, then Medina native Steve Novak will perform a short set inside, followed by Buffalo based Rust Belt Brigade, who will close out the evening. Rust Belt Brigade features two members that grew up in Orleans County.
There will be food, commemorative glassware, and a special toast at 8:10 PM. In addition to their unique selection of meads and signature cocktails, they will also have mead slushies and a variety of Western New York craft beers.
